Subject: Volunteering Opportunity For Students at the Green Festival Chicago October 24th-26th!

Dear Northeastern Community,

We are looking for volunteers for our sustainability event celebrating what's working in our communities and around the world - for people, business and the environment on the October 24th-26th!

We invite your community to participate and would greatly appreciate any help spreading the word to the larger service community you can give. Our event is a bit low on volunteers this year, every helping hand makes a difference.

Do you think your clubs and students would be interested in helping make this community powered event happen?

Where:
Navy Pier
600 East Grand Ave, Chicago, IL 60611
Click Here for a map.

To Reserve A Group Shift:
I've included our two best group jobs and the available shifts below. In order to reserve a group shift I will need to know how many volunteers (a best estimate is fine) are in your group and which day and shift you'd like to choose from the options below.

Group slots will fill up on a first come, first serve basis so please let me know as soon as possible so I can ensure a group reservation for you.
-If you can, please let me know a second choice as well.

Green Team Description:
We typically schedule volunteer groups on the Green Team, which assists the Green Festival in maximizing its sustainability goals. Volunteers help by staffing our resource recovery stations, educating attendees about our recycling and composting efforts, and playing a hands-on roll in diverting as much waste from the landfill as possible by maximizing our compost and recycling efforts.  It's a great hands-on and educational experience for any group.  You'll learn a lot and your group will make a huge difference!

Box Office Description:
We also have availability for Groups to act as Greeters in our Box Office. The most important quality for a Box Office volunteer is a winning smile and friendly demeanor to help provide a great first experience for attendees! Box office volunteers need to be outgoing and good at interacting with lots of people. They may work in will call, help with the cash registers or greet and answer questions.

Working a shift for Green Festival, entitles each member to:
  • Free Admission all Weekend
  • Free cotton exclusive event t-shirt
  • Free Membership for one year in Global Exchange and Green America
  • A 10% Discount in the Green America and Global Exchange booths
  • Free Coat Check, Snacks and Relaxation in the Volunteer Lounge
Feel free to call me at 828-333-9415 if you have questions or would like to reserve a space over the phone.
